Therapy for Anxiety & Big Life Changes

Online Therapy in New Mexico, Colorado, and Idaho

Sometimes, life gives us challenges that are bigger than the tools we have to handle them.

Maybe you have tried traditional talk therapy but feel like something was missing or did not quite click.  Perhaps you really benefitted and are simply looking for another angle or approach. The mind body connection can make a difference for anxiety, stress, and integrating life experience.

Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma are welcome here.  Emotions, parts, and life lessons are the ingredients we use to explore, craft, and renew life experience.

Sometimes, life gives us challenges that we feel are bigger than the tools we have to handle it.

You don't have to do it alone

Big Life Changes

Are you working through some big life transitions and wondering how mindfulness and somatic awareness might help you along the way? Are you exploring a change of career, or working through a medical upheaval, and want a bit of added support in making this big change? Do you have anxiety and fears that seem to be taking a hold in ways that leave you stumped as to how to cool the flames and get back to a feeling of grounding and calm? Perhaps working with some of the nervous system tools and exploring new ways to relate to anxiety could help. These are areas I enjoy helping my clients navigate.

Mind-Body Connection

Therapy that focuses on beliefs alone can allow a great deal of reflection and progress in updating old beliefs.  Incorporating an awareness of the body's felt sense can support the deepening and integration at a cellular level.  Sometimes people need a place to voice and process life experience, and there is often a desire and need to learn some approaches to support this integration of mind and body, since the body stores memories that may need a nervous system and mind-body approach to be supported more fully.

Solution-focused

For short term therapy, I offer a strengths-based, solution focused approach to therapy. This means we will work together to identify the challenges, your strengths that can support you in meeting those challenges, add in some new tools as may be fitting, and explore ways to move toward the goal you have in mind for how you'd like to see your life change or improve.

Modalities

For longer term therapeutic work, my approach encompasses Internal Family Systems-informed Parts work to explore the myriad of parts that play ping pong matches inside your head, and support greater integration of all the parts and memories.  Somatics, Polyvagal Theory, and Nervous System Education are for a mind-body connection and deepening. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is useful for coping, grounding, and creating space to start looking more closely at the challenges.  Mindfulness helps foster a closer connection with your own body and ability to self regulate.

How I Support

My work is informed by my own mind-body practices and commitment to living an aligned life in connection with nature and innate creativity. I believe we all deserve the best in life and there are ways to work with the barriers that want to tell us otherwise. I am here as a guide, utilizing my clinical evidence-based skill set along with intuition, creativity, and some humor, supporting you to identify your strengths, growth edges, parts at play, and possible solutions each step of the way.

I got into this line of work as a result of wanting to make a positive impact in the lives of others, after watching loved ones struggle and feeling the immediate impact. I have been on a healing path from a young age, exploring yoga, meditation, Qi Gong, Tai ji, Martial arts, art, the Natural world, and writing as forms of self exploration, inquiry and understanding. I love nature time, dog pet friends, and spending time connecting with loved ones and community.
